Overview


B.Sc in Optometry is an Undergraduate Program in vision care science offered by M.M. (Deemed to be University). Optometry is a paramedical health care profession which deals with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. The three year training will enable a student to become a competent person in providing service as an Optician, Optometrist, Refractionist and Ophthalmic Assistant to the community in urban, semi-urban and rural settings in private, semi-Governmental and Governmental sectors. Eligibility


4 Years Academic

Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom)

The candidate who shall attain the age of 17 years or more on December 31, of the year of admission and has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from the Board of School Education, Haryana or any recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English securing at least 50% marks in aggregate and must passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, English & fifth subject individually.

3 Years Academic

Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) (Lateral Entry to IInd Year)

Provided that the candidate who have passed 3 years diploma (Optometry) after Matric or two year diploma after 10+2 shall be eligible for admission to the B.Sc. (Optometry) in 2nd year through lateral entry.

Note:

  1. The Fee will have to be deposited at the time of Counselling.
  2. University Charges will be extra as per University norms.
  3. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  4. There will be an annual increase of 7% in tuition fee.
  5. Students Fund for all the students is Rs.2,000/- p.a.
  6. Life time Alumni Membership fee is Rs. 4,000/-.
  7. Hostel & Transport Charges will be extra.
  8. Students who wish to leave the Institute mid-stream, will have to deposit the fee for the remaining period of the course as per judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and others Vs State of Karnataka & PA lnamdar case.
