Overview


The Department of Physics offers two year M.Sc. Physics program under semester system. The curriculum is enriched with the core subjects of Physics & allied areas. The students are also encouraged to carry out research projects in their final semester. The students are given opportunities for placements in various reputed companies. The department also offers Ph.D. program in Physics and allied areas; viz., Radiation Physics, Materials Science, Nanomaterials and Dielectric Spectroscopy

Eligibility

M.Sc. (Physics)

(I) B.Sc (Hons.) in concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University

OR

(II) B.Sc in full subjects with (Hons.) in concerned subject, obtaining at least 50% marks in aggregate of Hons. examination from any recognized University

OR

(III) B.Sc. with concerned subject securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University

OR

(IV) BA with Mathematics as one the main subject (for M.Sc. Mathematics only) securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University.

Note:

  1. The Fee will have to be deposited at the time of Counselling.
  2. University Charges will be extra as per University norms.
  3. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  4. There will be an annual increase of 7% in tuition fee.
  5. Students Fund for all the students is Rs.2,000/- p.a.
  6. Life time Alumni Membership fee is Rs. 4,000/-.
  7. Hostel & Transport Charges will be extra.
  8. Students who wish to leave the Institute mid-stream, will have to deposit the fee for the remaining period of the course as per judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and others Vs State of Karnataka & PA lnamdar case.
