Nutrient Management and Fertilizer Technology |
The student should be able to understand the basics of nutrient management and fertilizer technology. The objective is to develop a critical appreciation of key concepts of general principles of micronutrients, macronutrients, chemical fertilizers, bio-fertilizers and manures including farmyard manure, vermicompost and green manures for plant growth. Students will be able to make nutrient management decisions based on site-specific assessment of soil nutrient status, available technology, crop management goals. The students will also be proficient to make the decision about the selection and use of the chemical fertilizer/ bio-fertilizer based on their merit and demerits. Student should be able to search relevant text, research articles and literature and review articles for latest findings. |
