Overview


The course familiarizes the students with the Hospitality/Tourism Business & Management. The course is blend of theory and practical to develop a professional attitude & skills for trade in students. Being professional in nature the course aims to inculcate professional values & ethics with focus on hospitality/tourism management & operations.
Hotel Management is the ideal program for students with an international drive, entrepreneurial flair, commercial insight and a service –minded approach. In addition to management skills, considerable attention is being paid to professional skills and theory in order to help you develop the right attitude for the industry.
The course is designed with an objective to provide an educational foundation for a range of administrative and management careers in the hotel industry. This course enable the student to acquire skills for future management roles of various types of hospitality units and being aware & conscious of social responsibilities that an organization owes to its employees & clients. The BHM&CT programme, prepare a student to learn how to successfully lead a business in the international hospitality industry as a manager or entrepreneur. Student learn to translate the wishes and desires of guests into appealing, customer-oriented products and services.
After completing the BHM&CT program, students will be able to Outline the career opportunities available to managers within the hotel and restaurant segments of the hospitality industry and explain the personal and professional characteristics—including the cultural sensitivities and ethical responsibilities—required to successfully manage these service industries. BHM&CT offers the chance of rapid career progression: it is not uncommon for successful management trainees to reach general management positions in large hotels within five to seven years after graduating.

BHM&CT

Passed 10+2 examination with pass in English. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination

OR

Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

BHM&CT (Lateral Entry)

Passed Diploma examination in a Programme with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate Programme

Note:

  1. The Fee will have to be deposited at the time of Counselling.
  2. University Charges will be extra as per University norms.
  3. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  4. There will be an annual increase of 7% in tuition fee.
  5. Students Fund for all the students is Rs.2,000/- p.a.
  6. Students are also required to pay Rs 5,000 as Operational Fee & Rs. 7,000 as Training & Lab Material Fee p.a.
  7. Life time Alumni Membership fee is Rs. 4,000/-.
  8. Hostel & Transport Charges will be extra.
  9. Students who wish to leave the Institute mid-stream, will have to deposit the fee for the remaining period of the course as per judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and others Vs State of Karnataka & PA lnamdar case.
