World Environmental Day was celebrated by Maharishi Markandeshwar deemed to be University. Hon’ble Pro- Vice chancellor- Dr. Ashok kumar, Dr. Sumit Mittal- Registrar MM(DU), Dr. N.K. Batra- Dean of Academics, Dr. J.K. Sharma – Dean Student welfare and Dr. Bindu Jindal – Principal, Law college was also present to motivate the students. Whole event was co-ordinated by Dr Pernita Dogra, Prof. Chemistry department & co-ordinator of ECO-Club & Mr Karan Aggarwal, NSS programme Co-ordinator. Dr Jyoti Sharma & Dr Pooja Sharma helped a lot for the success of the event.
A pledge was taken by all dignitaries, heads of departments, faculty members and students to make our campus plastic free.
To raise the importance of all types of woodlands and trees, a tree plantation was also organised.
ECO Club and National Service Scheme have also distributed steel utensils in slum areas to spread the awareness to restrict the use of plastic.
50 students have participated enthusiastically and a message was given to avoid the use of disposable plastic items.
